- Surely You’re Joking, Mr. Feynman! by Richard P. Feynman
- Hackers and Painters by Paul Graham, translated by 阮一峰
- Just for Fun by Linus Torvalds
- Clean Code: A Handbook of Agile Software Craftsmanship by Robert C. Martin
The code examples are mostely in Java, which I don’t fully understand, but Chapter 2: Meaningful Names will stick with me.
- Effective Ruby: 48 Specific Ways to Write Better Ruby by Peter J. Jones
Good reminders for many things that junior Ruby developers might overlook.
Recommended by a senior I respect a lot, who writes very effective Ruby code. - The Pragmatic Programmer: From Journeyman to Master by Andrew Hunt & David Thomas
Easy to read and humorous. Much of the advice is still relevant although it was first published in 1999. The Stone Soup and Boiled Frogs topic in the first chapter was a eye-opener for me.
